Reaching Home Funding

Local community organizations supporting individuals to maintain safe, stable and affordable housing will receive a total of $1.8 million over the coming year, funded by the Government of Canada’s Reaching Home: Canada’s homelessness strategy. Additionally, under the Canadian Government’s Reaching Home COVID 19 Economic Response Plan, close to $1.1 million were made available in additional funds to assist community organizations in serving and supporting homeless and at risk of experiencing homelessness individuals in the city of Regina through the outbreak.

The Regina Homelessness Community Advisory Board (RH CAB) reviewed all applications received for the regular Reaching Home funding in the fall of 2019 for their alignment with Regina’s Community Plan to End Homelessness. In April 2020, the RH CAB reviewed community organizations’ Capacity and Needs Assessments in light of the COVID 19 outbreak, and allocated the Reaching Home incremental funding to address priorities identified by the RH CAB as well as to meet the urgent needs of community organizations as these priorities and needs align with the Reaching Home directives for COVID-19.
